Community Guidelines

Rules for the participants – Code of conduct

:two_women_holding_hands: We’re friends, not foes

Always treat your fellow community members with respect and kindness. We do not tolerate any form of discriminatory, inappropriate or offensive behaviour, and we do not tolerate spam and theft of identity.

:nail_care: Keep it classy

This isn’t Wall Street Bets. While we encourage open discussions and healthy debates, please keep it professional – we don’t want to see inappropriate content. No profanity, abuse, hate speech, bullying, threats or harassment or offensive language is allowed.

:woman-gesturing-no: No self-promo

We’re here to talk about investing, building wealth and financial freedom from a woman’s perspective, not selling. No sales pitches, promotional links, soliciting investment or other business or spamming are allowed unless we have granted temporary permission. We’re building a community, not a sales funnel.

:closed_lock_with_key: What happens in Propelle, stays in Propelle

Being a member of our community means that we want to keep this experience exclusive to you and the rest of your peers. Please do not share personal information or confidential information discussed in this channel. We value your privacy more than Warren Buffett values Berkshire Hathaway!

:handshake: Lend a hand

Share your experience and offer support. Our chat channel is a supportive community where we help each other succeed.

:pushpin: Follow the code

These guidelines are part of our larger code of conduct. Any violations will be dealt with according to the code. In this community, we follow the rules like we follow the stock market!

:tada: Have fun!

Last but not least, let’s have some fun! Let’s talk about finance in a fun and engaging way, including how it impacts the other important areas of our lives. Let’s celebrate our successes and learn from our mistakes. Let’s go for gold and have a blast doing it! We’re all about maximising profits and maximising fun!

No financial promotions or advice

Financial promotions are any invitation or inducements to engage in an investment activity. Please keep in mind that providing any direct financial advice on Propelle is strictly forbidden. You shouldn’t advise others what assets/products to invest in, how often to invest, what amount to invest, or what to do with a specific investment (e.g. sell/buy/hold). This also applies to the promotion of specific stocks. Here is what you can and can’t say:

This can be saidThis can’t be said
“I think it’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio, if you’d like to minimise the potential risk.”“Invest in Apple – it has great potential”
“Personally, I always make sure to do proper research before investing.”“Keep buying tech stocks, and maybe consider index ETFs”
“Check out this book I read about investing strategy, might be useful to deepen your knowledge.”“To become financially free, start with £10 a month, and go up to £1,000 in a year.”
“Have you read this article about Apple on Bloomberg? Interesting news!”“Focus on dividend-paying assets.”

🙅‍♀️ No market abuse

Market abuse is the insider dealing of information about financial markets and companies, the spreading of rumours, market manipulation and collusion and price speculation. It’s forbidden by law and we ask you to strictly refrain from sharing insider information or perpetuating market abuse. For example: If you know about a big change happening in a company whose stocks are listed on the stock exchange market, you can’t tell people about it, as it would allow them to buy or sell shares using insider information not available to the public.

This can be saidThis can’t be said
“I read in the news this morning that Nike stocks are down 10% since yesterday.”“Someone told me that the CEO of X will announce his resignation next month, that will surely make the price of the stock go down.”
“I invested in an ETF fund 3 years ago and I have made 35% return since.”“My company is going to release their report next week and our numbers have increased by 250%! You should buy some of our stock before the price increases.”
“My investments are down since this morning, the recent political changes have caused some market fluctuations.”“I can’t tell you why, but you should believe me and not buy into this fund.”

Propelle will ensure that this remains a safe space for you to connect with like minded women. In the event of rules being broken, we’ll intervene by contacting the person involved and offering additional support to understand what they can and can’t say. If infringements happen on multiple occasions (5), Propelle holds the right to remove that person from the community to ensure that we can all continue to exchange in a respectful, tolerant and empathetic way. Should you see anything that you’d like to report, please email us at support@propelle.io.
